My homelab in the high country

I run it on three principles: prefer boring, prefer recoverable, prefer documented. Living on acreage with imperfect internet makes “own your infrastructure” less ideology and more weather-planning.

Principles I keep returning to:

• Prefer boring. Exciting infrastructure pages you at 3am.
• Prefer recoverable. Anything I can’t rebuild from notes in an afternoon is a liability, not a convenience.
• Prefer documented. If it isn’t written down, it doesn’t really run here.
